Landlord Bookkeeper Privacy Policy & Subscription Terms
Effective Date: February 5, 2026
1. Introduction
Landlord Bookkeeper is a macOS application that helps landlords manage properties and financial records. This Privacy Policy explains how data is handled in the app, including information related to subscriptions and device syncing.
2. Data Collection and Storage
Local Storage:
All data you enter into the app, including property details, tenant information, financial transactions, and service charges, is stored locally on your device.
iCloud Sync:
If you enable iCloud syncing, your data may be transmitted to Apple’s iCloud servers to keep it synchronized across your devices. Landlord Bookkeeper does not access, collect, or transmit this data—it is only shared via Apple’s secure iCloud service.
You can manage iCloud syncing for Landlord Bookkeeper in your macOS iCloud settings. Disabling iCloud for the app will prevent data from syncing between devices, but your data will remain stored locally on the device where it was entered.
No Tracking:
We do not track your activity or behavior, and we do not use analytics or similar tools to monitor your use.
3. Subscription Information
Landlord Bookkeeper offers subscription-based features. Subscription billing is managed entirely through the Mac App Store, and we do not access or store your payment information.
Important Notes:
Subscription renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled by Apple.
We do not see, store, or share any payment information.
Refer to Apple’s Subscription Terms for details on managing subscriptions.
4. User Data Rights
Even though we do not collect or store your data, syncing via iCloud means Apple technically processes your information. Your rights regarding this data depend on local regulations:
GDPR (European Union)
If you are located in the EU:
You can review, correct, or delete data stored in iCloud via Apple’s privacy tools.
Landlord Bookkeeper does not access or process your data directly.
CCPA (California, USA)
If you are a California resident:
You can know what personal information is collected (none by us; iCloud data is managed by Apple).
You can request deletion or access via Apple’s tools.
Landlord Bookkeeper does not sell your personal information.
5. Security
All data you enter is stored locally and, if iCloud is enabled, synced securely through Apple’s servers. To keep your data safe, we recommend protecting your device with a password and backing up your data. We do not have access to your data and cannot restore it in case of device issues.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top indicates when it was last updated. Changes take effect when a new version of the app is released.
